A 40-hour appraisal report, cut to 20.
Paz Economics & Engineering is one of the largest real estate appraisal firms in Israel, producing the formal reports that sit under urban renewal projects, evacuation-construction deals, land authority tenders and buyer groups. Each report took around 40 hours, much of it spent assembling legal and proprietary information by hand, and every appraiser assembled it slightly differently.
In numbers
- Work effort per report cut by 50%
- The same structure and depth from every appraiser
- Live progress tracking across the whole team
Where the 40 hours went
An appraisal report runs to several chapters, and the one covering legal and proprietary information consistently ate 10 to 15 hours on its own. That time went on finding documents, reading them, extracting the handful of facts that matter and writing them up in the firm's format. Repetitive enough to be tiring, specific enough that a junior could not simply be handed it.
What we built
A set of agents that take the documents for a property, classify what each one is, pull out the facts the chapter needs, and draft it in the firm's own structure. There is a dedicated agent per project type, because a TAMA urban renewal file and a land authority tender ask different questions of the same paperwork. The appraiser reviews and corrects, and the system keeps the source document beside every extracted value so checking a figure takes seconds.
Built into how the firm already works
Nothing about the firm's process was redesigned around the software. The system sits inside the existing workflow, takes the files as they already arrive, and produces the chapter in the format clients already receive. That mattered more than any individual feature: a network of appraisers will not adopt a system that asks them to work differently, however good it is.
What changed
Effort per report is down by half. The consistency is the part the firm brings up unprompted, because output no longer varies with which appraiser happened to pick up the file. Progress across the team is visible in real time, so a partner can see where every open report stands without asking anyone.
